Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman, Distinguished Professor of psychology and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research is a professor at the University of California Davis. Her name is often credited for developing the first modern-day research into the study of eyewitness memory as well as child victims' witnesses in legal situations. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer and has been awarded many grants and has been awarded numerous internationally and national awards. She has provided advice to numerous government institutions and authorities all over the world on policy and studies pertaining to the way children are treated by the legal system. She is a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a member of numerous professional groups, such as the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman is an active part of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (Founding member) International Society for the prevention of child abuse and Neglect and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman has been head of three divisions (Division Society for Policy and Child Development as well as Practice Division of the American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology) and one section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
